About
Eleanor advises private capital managers on fund formation and portfolio transactions, with particular experience in credit and real estate strategies. She joined Thornhill in 2011 and was made partner in 2018, and has since led a number of the firm's largest fund closings, working with sponsors ranging from established global managers to first-time fund launches, including advising a global credit manager on the €15bn final close of its flagship direct lending fund and a mid-market private equity sponsor on the acquisition of a healthcare portfolio company. She is known for her ability to translate complex structuring questions into commercially workable solutions.
Alongside her fund formation practice, Eleanor regularly advises institutional investors on primary fund commitments, co-investments and secondaries transactions, including a programme of co-investments alongside a core fund commitment and the establishment of a hybrid, semi-liquid fund structure for a real assets manager, giving her a rounded perspective on the market from both sides of the table.
Eleanor holds an LL.B. from the University of Edinburgh and was admitted in England and Wales in 2013. She is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
