About
Marcus advises US and international sponsors on private equity and credit fund formation, as well as the acquisition and financing of portfolio companies. He joined Thornhill's New York office at its founding in 2015 and has played a central role in building the firm's North American Private Capital practice from the ground up, advising on matters including a US private equity sponsor's formation of its third flagship buyout fund and a credit manager's NAV facility used to support a portfolio-wide liquidity solution.
Marcus has particular experience advising sponsors on the establishment of parallel and feeder structures for funds marketed to institutional investors across multiple jurisdictions, and regularly advises on the acquisition financing arrangements that accompany a sponsor's underlying portfolio transactions, including a series of bolt-on acquisitions for a portfolio company platform.
Marcus holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and was admitted in New York in 2010. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Private Equity International Network.
