About
Rachel is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm, including strategy, finance, and oversight of the firm's international offices. She was elected Managing Partner in 2023, having previously spent eighteen years in the firm's Private Capital group advising fund managers on formation, regulatory and governance matters, including a global credit manager on the establishment of its flagship direct lending fund, an institutional investor on its primary fund investment and co-investment programme, and a first-time sponsor on the structuring and launch of its debut private equity fund.
Prior to joining Thornhill, Rachel trained and qualified at a leading City firm before moving into private capital work early in her career. She continues to advise a small number of longstanding clients alongside her management responsibilities, and has been closely involved in shaping the firm's response to evolving regulatory expectations for private fund managers. She is a strong advocate for flexible working practices within the firm and chairs the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee.
Rachel holds an LL.B. from the London School of Economics and was admitted in England and Wales in 2003. She is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Alternative Investment Management Association.
